Position Specific Description

As a Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) Electrical test Engineer at NextEra Energy. Your primary role will involve applying procedures and process to dedicate electrical components thru test plans for Breakers, Relays, Temperature switches and discrete component for nuclear safety applications.

This position involves performing engineering/analytical tasks to develop test plans, reliable, cost-effective procurement engineering packages that establish technical and quality requirements. The engineer will select critical attributes for testing to ensure safety-related functionality. They will utilize plant design information and adhere to codes/standards while maintaining design margin.

This position is located at the Corporate Procurement Engineering and Dedication (CPED) facility in West Palm Beach.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop FMEA’s/test plans and administer necessary evaluations in accordance with our commercial grade dedication process.

  • Interpretation of test plan results to ensure product quality and integrity.

  • Review electrical design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives in the CGD process.

  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure the successful implementation of dedication processes.

  • Maintain current knowledge of industry standards and technology landscapes to influence the design and testability of new products.

Job Overview

This job is responsible for performing engineering activities that support projects and operations across the nuclear business. Employees in this role apply broad nuclear plant engineering experience and principles to make decisions and recommendations. Individuals work with independence and have wide latitude to exercise judgment over technical solution development.

  • Performs highly complex engineering tasks that require knowledge and experience with nuclear industry standards and regulations

  • Leads discussions in a group setting to resolve problems or coordinate design production

  • Applies nuclear industry standards and regulations to solve new problems and address situations

  • Serves as technical liaison within the nuclear business unit

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
