This is a Job Description for an IT Support Specialist in West Point, Mississippi

Summary: This role is responsible for providing end-user support on a variety of technical issues relating to information technology systems as well as assisting with implementation and training for new system and software changes. This position is on-site and works 40 hours a week between Mon - Fri (some overtime may apply based on workload).

Duties & Responsibilities:

 Provide in-person technical user support by identifying issues, researching solutions, and resolving matters involving computer systems, software, and hardware. Follow established workflow procedures for monitoring, tracking, and responding to requests received through the IT helpdesk ticketing system. Communicate and work effectively with clients and partners to analyze and adapt appropriate course of action based on the existing circumstances. Escalate complex issues to appropriate teams and/or 3rd Party Vendors as appropriate. Configure and install new or replacement PCs, laptops, network printers, scanners, A/V, and other devices. Contact hardware vendors for warranty replacement or repair. Assist with documentation and training of existing and future systems and software. Assist in supporting operations which may include other IT duties.

 

Requirements

: 2-3 years related experience. Certification or Degree preferred, but experience can substitute for education. Experience in IT Support services. Proficient debugging skills for user level support including laptops, desktops, printers, and projectors. Strong customer service focus to support users with PC troubleshooting and setup. Knowledge of Windows Active Directory, PC Hardware configuration, Windows Server, and networking. Experience with Helpdesk ticketing systems. Experience authoring technical documentation and diagrams to support the IT environment. Sound problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to exercise sound independent judgment. Teamwork mindset and temperament to work effectively with a diverse group of people. Effective ability to communication clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. May be required to lift heavy objects.
