Job Description

The purpose of the Snr Cost Accountant is to create and maintain plant standard costs in SAP for the global internal and external manufacturing network and to be a subject matter expert for global Operations SAP financial and costing functions and ensure consistency and optimize cost accounting practices across the AbbVie plant network.

This role will be base at our Westport site and will be 12 month FTC position

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain standard costs in SAP across manufacturing plants with the AbbVie Europe network.

  • Support holistic analysis of plant information by creating reports that consolidate spend and volume data from SAP.

  • Provide critical data and support to site finance business-facing teams.

  • Promote process standardization throughout the plant network, including Budgets, Forecast, LRP and Month End Reporting.

  • Actively seek practices that will improve accounting processes and efficiencies.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant governmental agencies, EHS and quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

  • Four years of experience as a cost accountant in a multinational manufacturing environment.

  • Direct SAP experience with general knowledge of support programs and third-party system applications.

  • Expertise in cost accounting principles for manufacturing and corporate accounting practices and accounting theories required.

  • Customer-focused, able to provide outstanding service to the plant assigned.

  • Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint experience.

  • Strong communication time management skills.
