WSP USA Environmental / Geotechnical Driller in Whitby, Ontario
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Environmental/Geotechnical Driller to join our Applied Solutions team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in drilling operations and hold a Class 3 Well Technician certification. This role involves conducting drilling activities for environmental and geotechnical investigations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and maintaining equipment.

What you can expect to do here:
Operate and maintain drilling equipment: Efficiently operate various drilling rigs and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
Conduct soil, groundwater, and rock sampling: Perform accurate sampling procedures to gather data for environmental and geotechnical analysis.
Install monitoring wells and piezometers: Set up and install monitoring wells and piezometers to track groundwater levels and quality.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations: Adhere to all relevant safety protocols and environmental guidelines to protect personnel and the environment.
Prepare and maintain accurate drilling logs and reports: Document drilling activities, sample collection, and site conditions in detailed logs and reports.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to achieve project objectives and deadlines.
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues: Identify and address any mechanical or operational issues with drilling equipment to minimize downtime.
Perform routine maintenance on drilling equipment: Conduct regular maintenance checks and repairs to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
What you'll bring to WSP:
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in environmental or geotechnical drilling.
Certification: Class 3 Well Technician certification.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of drilling techniques, equipment operation, and maintenance.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations related to drilling operations.
Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and equipment issues.
Communication: Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and report findings.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain detailed records.
Driver's License: Valid driver's license required (A restricted or DZ license).
