POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will supervise and care for children at in-house Kids Zone while parents/guardians are using facility.Provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Provide exceptional supervision and care for children while parents use Kid Zone services.
  2. Ensure a clean, safe, and positive atmosphere for all children, fostering a welcoming environment.
  3. Communicate openly and effectively with parents, providing updates and addressing concerns.
  4. Maintain accurate daily attendance records and ensure proper documentation.
  5. Manage materials and supplies, notifying supervisors of any needs promptly.
  6. Facilitate the use of playground and activity areas, encouraging active play.
  7. Uphold order and discipline with a caring and respectful approach.
  8. Foster positive relationships with all patrons and members, promoting a welcoming atmosphere.
  9. Complete and submit accident reports accurately and promptly.
  10. Adapt to work at various locations and adjust schedules to meet the organization's needs.
  11. Comply with all association and role-specific training requirements.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors, supporting the YMCA's mission and goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum age of 16 (if 16 will work under supervision at all times)
  2. Previous experience working with children preferred.
  3. Certifications required within 60 days of hire: CPR, First Aid, AED.
  4. Gallagher and Praesidium required within 60 days of hire.
  5. Strong passion and commitment to work with children.
  6. Must be mentally alert and physically able to care for children from infants through 12 years of age.
