Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) in Wiesbaden is looking for a

Program Manager (m/f/d) Diabetes Care Commercial EMEAP

The Opportunity

This position works out of our Wiesbaden location in the Abbott Diabetes Care - Abbott GmbH. We’re focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.

The ADC Commercial EMEAP Program Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating key assigned strategic commercial projects & programs in the Area (such as Product Launches, Divisional Implementations, Finance Projects, Other commercial projects & process streamlines).

Background :

  • This is a critical role reporting to Commercial Project Manager EMEAP. The role is located in Wiesbaden (Frankfurt area) within the EMEAP Commercial Team and requires excellent project management skills within complex matrix environment and multiple stakeholders.

  • Her/His focus will be FreeStyle Libre, a breakthrough technology of Flash Glucose Monitoring in the Diabetes Healthcare market. Freestyle Libre is directly available for clients/patients on our web-shops and in different reimbursement distributions channels such as pharmacies. Patients pay for it themselves or they are reimbursement by healthcare authorities. ADC will be in a hypergrowth mode for the next years raising a demand for fast implementation of commercial projects within a rapid and turbulent environment.

  • The role requires driving implementation, improvements, standardization and effectiveness in processes, tools and trainings using Project management methodology. Managing projects position holder is accountable to liase and find balanced solutions with multiple cross-functional and cross-divisional stakeholders: Marketing, Operations, IT, Finance, 3rd party suppliers, country SPOCs as well as timely getting approvals from internal approvers (Data privacy, Legal, Regulatory, Quality). So, both project management as well as strong negotiation & facilitation skills are a must.

  • A candidate is a team-player with a portfolio of successfully launched cross-functional and cross-divisional commercial projects. Project management certifications (PMP, Prince2, Agile) as well as process improvement certifications (such as LSS BB) are strongly preferred. Experience with marketing, e-commerce, customer service and supply chain domains would be beneficial. Project delivery, process- and program management excellence is expected. She/he will be self-driven and proactive, wanting to make a difference with their tangible contribution every day.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Manages multiple large implementation (both hardware / software), process improvement, and change management projects with an impact that results in a clear business performance shift.

  • Leads multi-functional core teams across geographic locations and functional areas from the Concept through Delivery to the Launch and further regional Roll-out while ensuring proper quality of execution (scope, time, cost). Serves as the people manager to the team as well as a primary change agent to the steering / management level.

  • Develops and follow-ups on project plans to meet the business needs in line with guidelines: works closely with various disciplines within Marketing, Operations, IT, Finance, as well as QA, RA, OEC and Data privacy to establishe project plans and objectives; develops cost analysis; creates and manages the integration of project schedules and project budget; tracks the progress and communicates proactively the impact of changes (e.g. scope, cross functional resources, timelines, costs, etc.) to key stakeholders.

  • Success in this role is measured by KPIs, sales and margin goals, timelines. Thus, position holder is also accountable to resolve resource allocation issues, conflicts, and priorities to ensure the project is staffed appropriately, completed on time, and within budget constraints.

  • Acts as an owner for change management & stakeholder management plan for assigned projects: sets-up Steering Committees, aligns with stakeholders, ensures resource allocation, prepares Roll-out plans and works with country SPOCs on its implementation.

  • Follows, fully supports and further develops excellence for PMO set-up at EMEA level: contributes, promotes, develops tools & templates, prepares & conducts trainings for his colleagues, acts as a coach for team members.

Your Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, business administration or engineering or equivalent experience required.

  • Formal education and certification on project management skills (PMP/Prince2, PMI-ACP/PSM or LSS Black Belt) preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the MedTech or Pharma or HealthCare industry with an emphasis on managing highly complex projects / programs.

  • Solid commercial focus proven by wide functional range experience in e-commerce, buildup and use of IT solutions, finance, supply chain and customer service.

  • Proven track record and solid experience as program / project manager.

  • Excellent knowledge of project management tools and software (MS Project, JIRA/TFS, Visio, Work-Breakdown tools, MS-Office incl. Teams/Onenote).

  • Excellent, proven project/program management skill required.

  • Strong communication, organizational and leadership skills. Able to understand the perspective and goals of multiple stakeholders and triangulate to find resolutions.

  • Ability to understand and explain complex processes and interdependencies, translate high-level goals into actionable plans across a wide variety of audiences.

  • Ability to lead by influence and without hierarchy in a matrix organization.

  • Strategic but at the same time pragmatic and solution oriented thinking; able to roll up the sleeves and do whatever it takes to make things successful.

  • Consensus-building - capable of utilizing strong interpersonal, verbal, presentation and writing skills to successfully interact with subordinates, colleagues, and executive management.

  • Team Oriented - builds strong relationships at every level of the organization and is a strong motivator who knows how to influence and get others to consistently do their best work. Overcomes barriers within own organization, peer organization and virtual organization.

  • Positive and stress-resistant attitude with an ability to stay flexible and adopt fast in a turbulent environment managing a significant roster of projects / programs and deliver on expectations.

  • The position requires the willingness to travel within Europe, Middle East & Africa and US (approx.. 10%).

  • Candidates must be fluent in English, additional languages are a benefit.X
