Spartronics Process Engineering Intern/Work Study in Williamsport, Pennsylvania

At Spartronics, the Process Engineering Intern role will primarily focus on conducting time studies to analyze and improve manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced engineers to support process optimization, enhance productivity, and ensure high-quality standards in our production line. The role is designed for a full-time paid summer internship with possibility of continued FT or PT work during the semester.

 

What a Day Looks Like:

    • Conduct time studies on various manufacturing processes to collect data on cycle times, setup times, and workflow efficiency.
    • Analyze time study data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
    • Assist in the creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.

Secondary responsibilities may include:

    • Support the development of process control and monitoring systems to ensure consistent quality and efficiency.
    • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities for process-related issues.
    • Provide support in the design and layout of production workstations to optimize workflow and ergonomics.
    • Assist in the preparation of detailed reports and presentations on time study findings and process improvement initiatives.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing projects.

Safety:

Ensure that all assignments are performed in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Company safety and health regulations, and where applicable, proper personal protective equipment is utilized.

Requirements:

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or master's degree in industrial, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
    • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and principles
    • Proficiency in time study techniques and process analysis tools
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven recommendations
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
    • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Due to ITAR restrictions and compliance, all candidates must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident. We can not sponsor Visas.
