Position DescriptionInstruct students in the specific area of specialty; help students learn subject matter and skills that will broaden their learning experiences and contribute to their development to meet high expectations; communicate with parents; create a classroom environment conducive to learning; and participate in professional learning. Adhere to the Connecticut Code of Professional Responsibility
Ensures the safety of students
Implements the Windham Board of Education and administrative policies, rules, regulations, and directives
Manage the classroom and individual student behavior to maintain an advantageous learning environment.
Prepares lesson plans that achieve clear objectives, use appropriate techniques, and serve the needs of all learners in the classroom
Maintains accurate and complete records as required
Assess student learning on a continual basis and identify areas of intervention if needed
Follow the scope and sequence of the instructional program as defined and approved by the Windham Board of Education
Maintains respect for confidential information
Design instruction to meet the needs of all students through both individual and small group settings as needed
Design clear and specific learning assessments.
Maintain a positive learning environment that encourages open communication between the teacher and learner.
Maintain a positive school community image that encourages ethical student behavior.
Maintain ongoing communication with parents
Other duties as assigned by the Administrator and/or Superintendent
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the selection of textbooks, equipment, and other educational materials
Establish and maintain professional relationships
Qualifications/Certificates:
Bilingual(Spanish/English) preferred.
Bachelor's Degree required.
Must be able to work with a diverse population

Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing

SUMMER POSITION ONLY18 days including staff PD for 2 days (7/1-7/2 at $41/Hour)8:00-1:00 Monday - Thursday (Program Hours 8:30-12:30)$51.00 per hour
