Eaton Corporation Plant Finance Manager in Windsor, Connecticut

Eaton’s EPG CHD ALP Airport Lighting Products division is currently seeking a Plant Finance Manager. This is a hybrid position based out of our Windsor, CT facility. Relocation is not provided for this role.

We are seeking a Plant Finance Manager who will be a key member of the Business Unit leadership team and of the Crouse-Hinds division finance team. The position reports directly to the Airport Lighting Products Business Unit General Manager and functionally to the VP Finance Crouse-Hinds. This role is instrumental in managing the financial performance of the Airport Lighting Products business including the development and analysis of forecasts and actual results and driving improvements in financial metrics.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $123750.0 - $181500.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

The Plant Finance Manager will develop forward-looking insights to help drive management decisions and actions to improve operational and financial results. The position will provide proactive leadership regarding issues and opportunities and will need to drive short-term actions to over deliver forecasts while supporting the deployment of progressive strategies which enable sustainable competitive advantages and a strong financial return on investment. The Plant Finance Manager will provide technical financial expertise to ensure compliance with Corporate financial policies, legal requirements, and US GAAP. The leader will be responsible for administrative process improvements within the Plant, creating and implementing procedures to improve the internal control environment, streamline efforts, and provide increased transparency of financial results. The position is responsible for building organizational capability within the business unit leadership team, ensuring owned assets are adequately protected, and financial guidance to Operations to produce the expected return on those assets.

In this role

  • Develop and coordinate Business Unit annual profit plans, quarterly plans, goals and objectives, financial reconciliations, and reports and analysis for Plant Management, including variance analysis and cost control reporting and recommendations

  • Advise and counsel Plant Manager and Business Unit leadership team on financial implications of operating strategies, cost control actions, and decisions

  • Manage, analyze, evaluate, and interpret Business Unit financial forecasts and operating results.

  • Review, analyze, and evaluate financial data and information for accuracy, consistency, and transparency. Maintain integrity of financial reports prepared by the Business Unit.

  • Interpret, implement, and monitor corporate policies and procedures, ensuring that financials are reported in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and local statutory requirements

  • Develop and implement budgeting and financial reporting systems to provide timely and relevant information to the Business Unit and Division. Control and maintain adequate product costing systems for valuation and cost estimating activities.

  • Take ownership of account reconciliation process to maintain integrity of Business Unit General Ledger and its supporting sub-systems. Assess adequacy of reserves and overall financial reporting. Ensure adequate training and oversight is provided to all Finance personnel to ensure that account reconciliations meet Eaton's requirements. Provide leadership and support for the Balance Sheet Review process.

  • Establish, monitor, and maintain a system of internal controls that safeguards Company assets and provides for integrity and propriety of financial transactions and activities. Maintain compliance with corporate policies, including SOX.

  • Evaluate and approve Business Unit capital appropriation requests. Monitor and report purchase commitments and spending for all capital programs. Conduct follow-up audits to ensure compliance for all significant capital investments.

  • Manage hiring, training, and development of Financial staff. Establish a work environment that encourages individual career development and growth in order to provide adequate opportunity for advancement.

  • Monitor and support continuously improving Plant Productivity / Gross Utilization and other Operations initiatives including EBE, MEASH, ELSS, and other BPI efforts.

  • Ensure that all Finance responsibilities are defined and communicated throughout the Business Unit with specific responsibilities and appropriate timing. Ensure the deployment of Finance standard work.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of financial and/or accounting experience.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within a 75-mile radius of Windsor, CT will be considered. Active-duty military members are exempt from this geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA, CMA, MBA or equivalent local professional qualifications
