Piedmont Federal Savings Bank Compliance Analyst BSA Specialist in Winston Salem, North Carolina
NOTE: Position is located in Winston Salem, NC. Prefer that applicants live within a 50 mile radius of Winston Salem, NC. Good credit history is a must.
POSITION SUMMARYThe Compliance Analyst and BSA Specialist is responsible for supporting the Bank's compliance program by monitoring (testing; auditing), assessing, and ensuring adherence to banking regulations, policies, and procedures. Strong focus on Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) regulatory compliance plus all federal regulations. The position will also focus on oversight of the daily management of loan file reviews for internal pre-funding and the external quality control of post-closing for the mortgage operations of the Bank. This position also has the responsibility of ensuring compliance with fair lending rules and reporting.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
High Essential
- Execute a monitoring and testing program to ensure effective compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Track issues to completion.
- Transaction Monitoring
- Conduct detailed reviews of client transactions to identify potential suspicious activities, including structuring, money laundering, and other illicit financial activities.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Regulatory Reporting and Audits
- Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory reports, and internal audits to ensure ongoing compliance with BSA/AML regulations.
- Perform day-to-day monitoring of quality control workflow while coordinating the completion and reporting of audit findings.
- Evaluate operational guidelines, controls and/or procedures to include updates on regulatory changes and investor guidelines.
- Oversee and manage the monthly pre-funding and post-closing quality control file selection, submission, completion, and reporting of files for review by the third-party quality control vendor.
- Identify and resolve issues/errors in pre-funding and/or post-closing phase of loan file review and take corrective action to bring loans in compliance with regulatory requirements using investor guidelines and Bank's policy. Identify subtle patterns or indicators of potential fair lending disparities or discriminatory practices with lending data.
- Produce timely and accurate results in an independent work environment.
- Regularly attend work at the Bank's place of business during regular business hours.
Low Essential
- Assist with internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance reviews.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assist in updating internal policies accordingly.
- Distribute a monthly report that is provided to management and the Board reflecting the results of the review of the third-party quality control vendor.
- Ensure remediation of identified issues through follow-up.
- Coordinate response to all audit and quality control findings and deficiencies for review by management and the Board.
- Manage the process to track, follow-up, and ultimately close all open audit findings.
- Prepare fair lending reports for the Fair Lending Committee.
- Participate in training and stay updated on regulatory and investor changes.
