Introduction :

As Data Steward , you will be reporting to Manufacturing Data Governance Manager, and you will assist to understand and meet the needs of data consumers by creating data as a product . You r role is t o support Manufacturing Data Governance Manager for responsib ility of the data quality, management, and ownership . You initiate to standardize data definitions , models, and assess and i mprove the data quality. You will participate in GlobalFoundries data council.

Your Job :

Partnered with Solution Architect to u nderstand the business needs, strategic objectives , processes, and how data and analytics are used within domain.

  • Translates business strategies into actionable business-oriented data management strategies for the assigned domain.

  • Operationalizes data strategy with domain, including identifying data needs, ensuring implementation of data standards , ensuring due data access.

  • Defines and executes standards for data within assigned domain (e.g ., define data quality rules, create data quality remediation plans)

  • Manages new data initiatives and related projects by defining high-level business cases, providing requirements, and tracking and prioritizing data projects within domain.

  • Manages access and provisioning by defining access permission plan, monitoring distribution of data from domain, approving data provisioning to authorized users, supporting data users as a subject matter expert of data in domain ; negotiating Data Service Agreements, and ensuring data access and provisioning comply with client standards and controls.

  • Serves as master and go-to-person for data policies and standards within their domain.

  • Determines official sources of data in scope.

  • Defines/ validates business definitions for data elements.

  • Revie ws data lineage and technical metadata for data elements

  • Identifies needs for changes in metadata within domain.

  • Implements changes to business defi nitions.

  • Identifies candidates for critical data elements (CDE) and prioritizes CDEs using criteria established by enterprise data management.

  • Defines business rules for data within domain.

  • Prioritizes data quality issues to remediate.

  • Reviews, approves, and oversees data quality remediation plans.

    Other Responsibilities: 

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs.

    Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative discipline, computer engineering, computer science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in data governance related roles.

  • A minimum of 3 years in a management role with strong leadership skills.

  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements.

  • Experience in performance metrics.

  • Foundational knowledge in data architecture and data engineering, good understanding of data sources, transformation rules, and uses of the data for the area of stewardship.

  • Strong project management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently learn new business domains and problems.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to influence others and form deep relati onships with business and technical colleagues.

  • Attention to detail and have a “can do” attitude; not afraid of “ roll up the sleeves ”.

  • Focuses on agile delivery with a “fail -fast, succeed early” mindset and measurable outcomes.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in quantitative d iscipline, computer engineering, computer science, Information Technology or equivalent
