Provide care and attention to a special needs child who is on the autism spectrum. Work with child to reinforce academic concepts learned at school and supervise completion of homework assignments. Engage in dialogue with parents, school and service providers to help in tailoring child's needs in suitable ways. Interact with child to help understanding of structuring time and communicating needs appropriately. Transport child to dietician, doctors and occupational and physical therapy appointments. Schedule and monitor playdates and social activities. Do laundry and prepare meals and snacks. Run errands and purchase supplies as needed. Required: 1 year of experience working with children on the Autism spectrum.
