Foxfire Schools 4th-6th Grade ELA Teacher in Zanesville, Ohio

Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher to join our team in educating and inspiring students in grades 4th through 6th. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in English literature, writing, grammar, and reading comprehension, along with a commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment. This position is located in Zanesville, Ohio, where educators play a crucial role in shaping young minds and preparing students for academic success.

Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that align with Ohio state standards for English Language Arts.
  2. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active participation and a love for learning.
  3. Develop and implement effective instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying learning styles and abilities.
  4. Assess student progress regularly through a variety of formative and summative assessments, and use data to inform instructional decisions.
  5. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their growth and development in English language skills.
  6. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders to support student learning and well-being.
  7. Integrate technology and other resources to enhance instruction and facilitate student engagement.
  8. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in ELA instruction and educational trends.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Education
  2. Valid Ohio teaching license or certification in English Language Arts for grades 4th through 6th.
  3. Strong knowledge of Ohio state standards for English Language Arts and experience with curriculum development and assessment.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  5. Passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  6. Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to collaborate with others to meet the needs of all students.
  7. Proficiency in integrating technology into instruction to enhance student learning.
