Together with the Operations team, this position develops optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls.

As our Manufacturing Process Engineer , you’ll support HID’s success by:

  • Carrying out process improvement, problem resolution, project management;

  • Reviewing, identifying and improving manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality yield improvement and efficiency via multiple methods such as the formal change control process;

  • Managing the OPEX system for the Malta site and maintain all communication channels to both the site management and other local and global colleagues.

  • Managing New Product Introduction transitions from design to production coordinating manufacturing launch plans, establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results;

  • Deploying Lean Methods to facilitate events and driving Productivity Initiatives to transform targeted areas;

  • Driving a medium and long-term culture change in the local site aimed to identify and implement a Kaizen culture via the continuous improvement process of waste identification and reduction through the best utilization of assets;

  • Managing product specific trials upon request;

  • Performing research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment;

  • Preparing and presenting plans for the above and coordinates deployment including training of team members;

  • Approving PPOF (Passport Order Form) and FO (Factory Order);

  • Delivering through a comprehensive, systematic, and documented approach;

  • Locally compiling and approving numbering and perforation configurations and delivers job manifests as per customer requirements;

  • Representing the Malta site on cross-functional teams;

  • Reviewing technical specifications, quantity and type of material to allow issue of purchase orders. These would include: paper, inks & plates (if applicable), threads, covers, e-chips etc.

  • Supports operations management goals in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control and training;

  • Identification of process change priorities, create / manage a list and priorities of the highest impact improvement areas;

  • Demonstrating meaningful and measurable results in reduced cycle time and lowered production cost;

    Your Experience and Education include:

  • 3-5 years of Manufacturing Engineering Experience;

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering

  • Experience working with Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologies;

  • Experience in analyzing Statistical Process Controls and Techniques;

  • Green / Black Belt 6 Sigma certification desired.
